Ferenc Marofka is a policy officer at the European Commission’s DG GROW, where he works on access to finance, with a particular focus on the life-sciences investment journey. An economist with a background in the pharmaceutical and med-tech industries, he seeks to better align Europe’s financing instruments with the needs of life-sciences companies and investors. Over 15+ years at the European Commission, Ferenc has worked on industrial policy for the health biotech and pharmaceutical sectors in DG GROW; EU pharmaceutical legislation and COVID-19 vaccine procurement in DG SANTE; and funding health research and innovation and promoting cross-border collaboration in DG RTD.
