Chunhua Weng, PhD, FACMI, FIAHSI, is Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University and a leading researcher in clinical research informatics and biomedical AI. Her research focuses on improving the efficiency, rigor, and generalizability of clinical trials through the integration of electronic health records, clinical trial data, biomedical literature, and computational methods. She has developed data-driven approaches to optimize trial eligibility criteria, improve patient recruitment and cohort identification, advance clinical phenotyping, and automate clinical evidence comprehension. Her work aims to make clinical evidence more computable and actionable across the research lifecycle. Dr. Weng is an elected Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics and the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics and received the 2025 AMIA Donald A.B. Lindberg Award for Innovation in Informatics.
