Ambrish Kapadia

Ambrish Kapadia, Besides being father of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy boy who was diagnosed at age 18 months in late 2008 , he is also one of the trustees of Mumbai based Non Profit Organisation - Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy since almost 18 years. PPMD is a patient/ parent support group who occasionally also provide funding for research within India . Two research programs have been funded in past ten years - (1) AAV micro Dystrophin Gene therapy development in collaboration with Narayan Health - Bangalore and (2) CRISPR CAS9 mediated Utrophin upregulation in collaboration with Kalyani University- West Bengal. With his extensive networking with many reputed scientists and clinicians globally , He has also emerged as a bridge between many Indian scientists , doctors and their counterparts in western countries ensuring that knowledge sharing disseminate to the patient community
