Emerging and Repurposed Therapeutics in Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease

This session surveys the expanding therapeutic landscape in alcohol-associated liver disease across the translational spectrum. Presentations span phase 2 trial data on incretin-based agents (zalfermin, cagrilintide, semaglutide) and target trial emulation of GLP-1 receptor agonists in decompensated cirrhosis, alongside preclinical studies of the repurposed PDE4 inhibitor roflumilast and examination of Rifaximin's potential to impact the microbiome to reduce fibrosis progression in ALD.
