Talk Contracts track

From “No AI” to “Know AI” in Clinical Trial Agreements

Tue, Oct 20, 2026 · 10:00–11:00 AM EDT

About this session

Artificial intelligence is increasingly embedded in clinical trial operations, creating new legal, operational, privacy, and data-use risks. This session examines common AI use cases in clinical trials, the risks they present, and how AI affects traditional CTA provisions, including confidentiality, intellectual property, data rights and secondary use, compliance, cybersecurity, indemnification, insurance, and liability limitations. Attendees will also explore how AI-specific contract terms are evolving from broad prohibitions to more nuanced, risk-based approaches, along with practical governance strategies for evaluating, implementing, and overseeing AI use.
